BABIES, BABIES... AND MORE BABIES
Nov 13, 2019Resolute NICU Reunion Celebrates Miracle Babies and Their Caregivers
Babies born prematurely or sick spend their first hours and days in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where they receive round-the-clock care from highly skilled doctors and nurses. A special bond forms between families and NICU caregivers that is celebrated each year when they are reunited with one another at a joyful event recognizing how these tiny babies are growing and thriving. There were lots of hugs at the annual Resolute Baptist Hospital NICU Reunion, which was held Saturday, October 5th. Dozens of families attended the event and reconnected with the doctors and nurses who cared for their tiny babies in the NICU. Nurses love the event because it gives them a chance to see how over the years their former patients have grown and are now living normal, happy lives. Parents love sharing stories of all they have overcome and reuniting with the caregivers they spent so many anxious hours with in the NICU. There were lots of fun activities for attendees including face painting, a photo booth and group picture, games, food, balloon artist, presentations from NBFD and NBPD and more.
Also, at the event, a wide variety of health and wellness education was offered to help moms and dads plan a healthy pregnancy and keep their children healthy as they grow.
