(New Braunfels, TX) – There was some “heavy lifting” involved at Resolute Health Hospital, 555 Creekside Crossing, this past December 2022, as hospital staff and the community gathered to witness and celebrate a new era and new look at the 8-year-old New Braunfels hospital. Hospital leadership officially unveiled their new brand as huge cranes removed and replaced massive signs on the building. Cranes and aerial lifts hoisted and fastened new signs to the buildings that reflect the hospitals re-branded logo and name -- Resolute Baptist Hospital. Four new signs on the building -- ranging in size from 33 feet wide by 5 feet high, to one that is 51 feet by more than 9 feet high – as well as additional exterior signs across the hospital campus, were installed that day.
Mark Bernard, Resolute Baptist Hospital CEO, said the rebrand will help more closely align the look of the hospital with its parent hospital, Baptist Health System in San Antonio.
“We are very excited we’ll have new signage that our community can recognize as the Baptist brand,” Bernard said. “Since opening our doors in 2014, Resolute has excelled at meeting the healthcare needs of our growing community,” he said.

Bernard said the timing is right for the change as the hospital recently expanded capacity to meet the increasing demand for procedural services. Two new operating rooms as well as additional support space for Pre-Op rooms and PACU bays are complete. A new cardiac cath lab is scheduled for completion in 2023. The hospital made an investment of $10 million to expand 8,000 square feet of capacity to meet the increasing demand for procedural services in New Braunfels and the surrounding communities.
“Our rebrand is another step in helping better guide and connect patients to access the quality, safe care and services we provide in our tri-county area as part of our Baptist Health System,” Bernard said. When the hospital opened, the population of New Braunfels was 63,000. Today it has surpassed 98,000.
Bernard credits the staff with the hospital’s continued success. Resolute has earned an ‘A’ Leapfrog grade six times in a row from the national patient safety watchdog, the Leapfrog Group. The hospital was the first in New Braunfels to offer robotic surgery. In 2022, Resolute was one of only four hospitals in Texas listed among the “Best Hospitals in America” as ranked by Money (formerly Money Magazine) and the Leapfrog Group. Resolute was the only hospital in Texas honored with the “Top General Hospital Award” in 2022 by the Leapfrog Group, the nation’s most competitive recognition for excellence in hospital safety and quality.
Last year, Resolute was one of only two hospitals in Texas to receive this honor from Leapfrog.
The hospital is Silver LEED certified by the U.S. Green Building Council and has won several civic awards for landscaping. “We are proud our patients will continue to receive the high quality, compassionate and personalized care they deserve. The newly branded signage on our campus will serve to enhance their experience,” Bernard added.
The installation company, Aetna Sign Group, which installed the hospitals signs when it opened in 2014, is the same company installing the new signs this year.
