Nov 29, 2022Health care quality and safety at Resolute Health Hospital rank among top in nation by national Leapfrog Group
(New Braunfels, TX) – The New Braunfels community can be proud to know that when it comes to patient safety, Resolute Baptist Hospital has earned top national rankings again. This is Resolute’s sixth consecutive ‘A’ grade from The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade report card. The rankings were released this November 2022. The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety, announced this week the ratings of hospitals across the United States. An ‘A’ rating is a national distinction, which recognizes the hospital’s commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
Mark Bernard, CEO of Resolute Baptist Hospital, said the hospital’s consistent track record for safety recognizes the staff’s dedication to placing their patients’ safety first. “We are very proud of the efforts of our teams that have resulted in this honor,” Bernard said. “This is something our community should be aware of as they count on us to keep them safe while in our care,” he said.
Resolute Baptist Hospital is part of Baptist Health System in San Antonio, which also received ‘A’ ratings for all five of its hospitals in San Antonio – Baptist Medical Center, Mission Trail Baptist Hospital, Northeast Baptist Hospital, North Central Baptist Hospital and St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital.
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization with a 10-year history of assigning letter grades to general hospitals throughout the United States, based on a hospital’s ability to prevent medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public. Hospital Safety Grade results are based on more than 30 national performance measures and are updated each fall and spring.
“I applaud Resolute Baptist Hospital’s leadership and workforce for their strong commitment to safety and transparency,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “An ‘A’ Safety Grade is a sign that hospitals are continuously evaluating their performance, so that they can best protect patients. Your hospitals’ teams should be extremely proud of their dedication and achievement.”
